The Craftsman Elite has a used mark stamped into the back of the headstock. also cannot find a serial # anywhere on or in the guitar..

it does have the proper label and is definitely an N768..

now I know that the factory released FRG guitars with a warranty,

and have seen some headstocks stamped 2nd or 2 as well...

I have seen the used stamps on other models but is the first O I've had stamped this way..

I understand that it was to avoid warranty fraud, but didn't think Ovation Stamped them this way.

It's a gorgeous and great sounding guitar, and I can't find the flaw that would have made it a 2nd, but couldn't find any problems on the FRGs I've had either.

just wondering.

FRG stands for factory reconditioned guitar, minor blem at final inspection or a return(?), sent back up the line for correction... then released with a limited warranty.. Ovation's FRG warranty is 5 years. there is supposed to be a label identifying them as FRG... at least I believe that to be the case. I have had two FRG Ovations that were marked properly.

can't keep her strapped down.. keeps trying to do too much... she's been out of the hospital going on a whole 5 days now.. and wonders why she's not feeling 100% better... keep telling her to slow down take it easy Shannon and I have it covered.

women are hardheaded.

she's feeling much better.. but lots of tests and meds to go yet. and some real recovery time.

thanks for asking.

Jason, when it got here, the strings were pretty crusty, and the preamp was swinging inside, after removing the preamp and 1/4 lead, I played it for a while and it sounded pretty good with the old strings.. but not a good reference point with the added holes in the body for the missing pieces. but I can tell you it's a boomer like all deep-bowl elites...

I'm assuming that these were AAA hand-picked tops like on the custom legends and custom elites.

the bracket is about half cured in, and I will be re-stringing it with a set of d'addario lights later this evening after she finishes curing up.

I'm pretty sure the glue is set hard enough to mess with the guitar now.. but will wait a few more hours...

it does play really nice, low action, and I think it sounds better than the Ivory 1718 that I sold to Thierry.. and that was one of the most articulate/rich sounding guitars I've owned so far..

I'll let you know more on this one later on tonite..

maybe is is a blessing the server glitched. I may have been overstepping my bounds as a dealer. I know all about the used guitars let's just say they are not guitars I would NORMALLY purchase.

 :( :(

ok.... should I be checking HOT sheets or what?

I know these are rare on this side of the Pacific..

or is this one that slid out the back door of the factory?

or just a High-End limited build Ovation with a USED stamp on the back of the headstock and no sign of a serial #?

pm me if you don't want to post it AL or I can call you tomorrow.

Thanks,

Glenn

No matter, as long as it's not hot, I like it, can't find anything wrong with it other than the stamp.. I'll have Brett or Howie do a full inspection for things I might not notice.. but it's not important..

Char's back in the hospital, by the time we got to emergency she was in full a-fib and pretty bad distress...

she's stabilized now, and getting ready to go back up into the cardiac wing at Holmes.

all the kid's have been calling their mother's day messages in, they don't know yet, she doesn't want me to get them wound up, but I have to call them back now..

at least NOW she says she's gonna pay attention and listen to us when we tell her toooo muchhh!!

I'll keep you posted guys.

just had to come home to get some things and eat something.

Thanks Jim and all,

just got back from the morning visit.. she has had another(small) heart attack(yesterday's event)..

more tests and rest today for her.. she's all worried about missing Shannon's Graduation ceremonies... on Friday...

The docs and everyone are telling her that's a long ways from today, and to let them do what they have to. and as the graduation hall is a short distance from the Hospital, if she is still in-patient then, they might let her go to the ceremonies and then check back in.

Her first grandchild(my 3rd) is also on the way..
expected delivery mid Sept... and she's fretting about the baby/daughter.. instead of focusing on her recovery.

she'll be in the hospital at least through Friday, and the next couple of days are the shaky ones with the possibility of another attack.

I'm running on fumes, trying to get rest and can't, trying to eat(not much), and staying positive around her and the kids(as best I can)..

gonna try and get a nap in.. then back up to Holmes.

Thanks All.
