| I bought a used Celebrity Deluxe Ovation a few years ago and when I've checked the serial number on Ovations website, the serial numbers only go to 6 digits. When you look through the sound holes, you can see the serial number tag (SERIAL NO. 2122895)and underneath that it says "Ovation USA" which is molded into the plastic backing. It has an Ovation OP30 preamp, the tuners say "ovation" and the construction is very nice just like any other Ovation I've ever owned, so it's definitely not a fake. So this 7 digit serial number thing has me stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated. |

That's because it is not a US made Ovation.
Celebrity guitars are built in Asia, in your case probably Korea.
It is only the bowl that is made in the US
Is there no paper label in it?

| Oh okay, that makes sense, and yes there is a small white label on the inside of it that has the serial number on it. So how do you find out what year it is then?
Thanks for the response. |

Well most Calendars show the year :) Sorry couldn't resist...
In ref to your question.... short of having the receipt from when it was bought, you likely can't tell what year it was made. The serial numbers on the imports are not in any particular order or scheme. |
