It was hard to comunicate with her because the electricity keeps going out over there... She knows english really well!!! But she made me melt when she went out of her way to sing happy birthday to me on microphone.. She was killed in the last bombing that killed 90 something Iraqis... Her sister broke the news and Im pretty fed up now... Now I know why I put earth inlays on my guitars. Life sucks... What the fuck is going on????

There is a lot in this world that doesn't make any sense to us. Especially now places like Iraq need the resources of their educated people. They especially need the abilities and the nurturing of their Sisters, Mothers and Daughters. And don't feel bad for sharing, it is a problem that belongs to all of us in this world. Share your grief and then try to share your solutions.

Thats not they`re real names because I guess in Iraq its like being under the talabon.. Lots o paranoia.. But I assure you hearing Jessies voice was a wonderful thing and I felt like I was her window to the outside... When ever her father walked in or brother she had to stop because she wasnt allowed to talk to men???? WHATS UP WITH THAT??? Shes 19??? She loved to sing and laugh and most of all talk to me .. I feel honored that she liked me and I hope all of you remember your not the only caring people on this earth.. Im sure you know... Anyway !!! AL!!! kill this thread Im done..

It does stink--because we inately know that life isn't supposed to be this way, that violence is a violation of everything that we humans should be. So accept the prayers and condolences from one who's heart has also been stung by loss--I will be praying for you, and her family, too. --Karen

Every seemingly senseless death there, or anywhere else, leaves those who grieve and are bewildered. I do hope that your pain eventually finds redemption.

It is horrible that there are people in this world that think that nothing is more important than their own selfish power-trip agenda (killing innocent people in order to gain power for themselves). You have my condolences and best wishes, as do they. Islam tends to be a male-dominant religion/society. That is why the young women had to lay low when the men were around. I see this all the time with the Moslem women around the Dearborn, Michigan, USA area where I work (the largest concentration of Moslems outside the Middle East). They are always covered when they are out doing their shopping, and always avoid any interaction with men other than what is needed. Roger

But just remember that you probably brought her hope and happiness during the time of your correspondence that she would not have known otherwise. Thanks for caring about others in the world. Too many people in this country could care less about the fate and fortune of people in other countries, and when those kind of people gain power, tragedy is always the result.

It is better to be connected to the world and feel that pain and joy and loss than to be unconnected and unhurt. If everyone did it, would there be fewer wars because we'd recognize each others souls? You're a good man for reaching out, and a good man for sharing with us here. I am honoured. Thank you.

The grief you must be feeling is coming through and I hope you take solace in knowing that many of us here feel for you, for those that are living that nightmare there and for the ones who can only sit and watch as their family/friends live through it. I can also believe that you were a very calm port in Jessie's storm and that you brought much happiness to her when she needed it most. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Jessie.
