Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | The OFC membership is great. Mark (Elginacres) invited me to adopt his original slothead No. 43 while he is on vacation. How could I turn down that kind of an offer? So No. 43 is now sleeping over in the professor's studio and will be given a thorough A/B exam against OFC No. 5 as well as a good sound comparo with some other notable models this weekend. Based on an hour or two of very close inspection last evening, I totally concur with Tupp's assessment in another thread. Think of No. 43 as a one owner completely original '57 Chevy that has been lovingly and expertly cared for over its 80,000 mile lifetime, whereas the OFC model is a similar model that has just undergone a ground-up restoration that is, essentially, in finer condition than what originally left the factory. I'll try and highlight this point through pics next Monday. |
