Funny you should mention, I had one of those Yamaha mini sets for practice at the church so I wouldn't have to lug the set there. It sounded rather cheesy until you plug it into a big keyboard amp. Then it sounded pretty good.

Try a Cajon. Very compact and easy to get a great kick/snare sound from. Great for adding a drum groove to acoustic jams and they mike up really well.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Cajon, here's a pic of one being played.

Cotten Music has a used Trace Acoustic on their web site. I use my TA35 alot, along with the G-B Shjr35. It's smaller and easier to carry.

Jeff was using sign language, Waskel. Fortunately, I caught it out of the corner of my eye. He asked, "WTF? No link, Beal?" Well, it was either that or, "Damn my armpits burn! Someone call EMS!" My sign language skills are a little rusty.

Maybe Hawaiian music is different but I'm always looking for percussion to hold down the bottom, the lead takes the higher notes...

I don't know how to do those links. go to www.cottenmusic.com and you'll find it at the bottom of the new arrivals listing.

... if we don't hear from Waskel for a while, it's because he's in for detailing...

Have you lost weight? Your arm looks skinnier than I remember it. Love the 4H ribbon...won't ask what you won it for. ;) A friend of mine who attended MSU (used to be called the "Agricultural College of the State of Michigan") once told me that "animal husbandry" meant you had to run 'round front to kiss 'em. Not sure, really, what that meant.
