Wallhanger.

The Crystal Palace is a worthwhile place to visit. They generally have a pretty good show in the dining room, if you like country music and a Grand Ole' Opry feeling. There a bunch of memorabilia, including his original red, white and blue guitar, and many of his outfits. Buck purchased the famous Bakersfield "arch" that used to span Highway 99 at the city limits (when they were tearing it down and were going to destroy it) and it now adorns the driveway into the Crystal Palace.

The guitar is a re-issue of a "Buck Owens American" that was either made by Harmony or Silvertone and sold around 1969 to 1971. Here are a couple pages that came up when I googled it.

I second the recommendation to spend an evening at the Crystal Palace if you're gonna be in B'town. Great food, great atmosphere and they even have Buck's Cadillac up behind the bar. In addition to the acoustic guitar mentioned above (and the usual T-shirts and other trinkets) you can also buy one of his metalflake r-w-b telecasters for $1,800 last I checked. First time we went there, had a great steak dinner and saw a pretty good girl band. Liked 'em so much we bought one of their CDs and they were even nice enough to sign it. Called themselves the Dixie Chicks.

Or, you could buy a 2080 and three cans of spray paint. Oh wait, some cartoonist tried that already. :D

If its the orginal one it should say
Buck Owens American with 3 stars on the headstock
look like this
http://demont.net/harmony/brandmodel.php?id=196
The were not super cheap/
Sears sold them for $82.50 in 1970
They were made by Harmony in Chicago.
This is what the Asian re-issues look like

I bought an original one of those here locally for $300 and sold it the same week for enought to buy my 1968 GC Deluxe Balladeer prototype which had also came up for sale that week...Did I do good or what?

I don't know what the reissue Owens guitars are like but those old originals were not much.

I'm only interested in the Red/White/Red issue.

And can you do something to make that maple leaf look just a LITTLE less like cannabis sativa?

Never touched either one of them, but the Asian Re-Issue LOOKS like a better guitar...
Looks can be deceiving, but...

I have a DC59 ... in Daddy-O Yellow.

These are actually very cool guitars. Very playable and they can sound great. They call the pickguard the "seal" style for obvious reasons. Very fun toy. My son has a 56U2 in black.

If you want a real quality guitar like the Danelectro, Jerry Jones Guitars in Nashville is making repros of the originals. Very nice. Joe Walsh can be seen playing one in the Eagles' Hell Freezes Over video.

Actually they sound great and cost little.
I liked the Danno effects better than Boss and Marshall effects I had been using.
Infact I gave those away to local young
muscian.
The only real downside to them is the knobs are delicate and need the knob protectors they sell for a $1.
Guitar Player Magazine Editors rated 3 of them as best effect.
http://www.danelectro.com/index.htm

The hold up better than you would think.
I had previosly had Tuna Melt Tremolo and
Chicken Salad Vibrato
for 7 years. They walked away at a show.

I had grand set aside for the new effects.
Spending $450 was a bonus.
