I don't know what equipment they used, but in the 1970 Ovation catalog they talk about "the 'Audio Signature System', a machine capable of measuring electronic sound spectrum and documenting the guitar's audio signature."

Maybe Beal can shed some light on this....

I'm not sure if they did all the #47RI's but I'm pretty sure I did see vibrometer printouts for that model when I was at the factory last July.
