Hi all, lots of updates to my small O family, but just now got my digital camera back so I can post some pics..

First off, my Redwood Collector's finally arrived repaired and intact from refinishing at the factory. You may recall that UPS has not been kind to this guitar on several occasions.. Fortunately, it's back now and better than new!... Thanks to John Budny and the rest of the crew at the mothership!

Next up, I finally got around to adding a Bigsby to my Eclipse. I haven't learned the subtleties of putting it to effective use yet, but is sure looks purdy in the meantime... thanks to seesquare for the minor repair last month. And thanks to Paul Templeman for urging me to "Just go for it!"...

And finally, over the last nine months, my good friend MWoody has been working patiently with me as I have trickled in the parts to commission my own custom Limited Deluxe by MWoody™... He started with this:

After lots of amazing handiwork, a hand-carved and shaped breadwinner body, a preacher deluxe neck, schaller chrome bridge and tuners, viper pickups, custom blend knob, custom pickguard and trc, and untold other personal touches, this is what I received from the WoodSter...

A huge thank you to Michael for all the work! I had complete faith in shipping him a pile of parts sight unseen and he exceeded my expectations and cranked out a really cool axe! The Viper single-coils and the blend instead of the switch put out all sorts of different and interesting flavors.. And thanks to Miles for helping with accumulating all the parts!

There are more pics of all of the above in my gallery. Thanks all for indulging me and for all the help along the way...

Real Purdy Stuff.

As to: "You may recall that UPS has not been kind to this guitar on several occasions.. "

I recommend FX! UPS really damaged a computer tower that I recently got, and the one that I am using now came with a healthy dent in the box!

That right there is a showing of guitars I'd love to have. I've always thought your redwood was just beautiful. Very nice collection, dvd.

Easy guys, I'm really proud of my humility... I'd hate to lose it. It's all about enjoying the creative process and sharing with your friends. DVD has a very definite sense of what he likes and now has a very nice range of Ovation Instruments to play.

When David talks about patience what he really means is that both of us are real procrastinators and the whole "day-job" thing can really get in the way. As I was working out his project I got to try different things on a couple of others first. I got to learn alot about what I do and don't like in the solid bodies. I really appreciate the Viper pickups and necks as of late.

I chose to hang out with yous-guys (and an occasional yous-gals) for my mid-life crisis because in the long run it's a lot cheaper than a fishing boat or a mistress...

If I had to chose three guitars to represent the family I'd choose a solidbody, a Collector acoustic and a really cool hollow-body.

Good job David!

Very nice, David and Mike. That redwood gets prettier each time I see it. Sounds great, too.

Nice job on the Bigsby David!

I'm fortunate enough to have played all these guitars. David's collection spans a lot of tonal range.
