Just curious...

Looks like these were only made for export to Japan and differ significantly from the Adamas Mill CB Millenium "Rest of the World" model.

They do not seem to bear a serial number.

Anyone here knows more about them and how many were made?

Thanks for reading!!!

Patrick

The Adamas century was a wood topped models using 100 year old spruce It looks like they made 50 of them serial number is on the label 9681 I never played one but was always curious how the suspension ring would enhance the wood top I'd guess it would be like an Elite 1537 with extra sustain and mojo.

Always something new to learn here on the OFC.. and this is one for me.
Perhaps Ken in Yokohama will chime in on this thread with more of a local-knowledge aspect.

Thanks for the link, 2wheeldrummer.

I'm always dubious when factories announce series of 50, 100 or 1000.

That might be the goal at the start but then, reality kicks in and the premium to be paid for these luxuries hinders sales!!!

I would believe these series if serials were consecutive, ie made in one batch... But there're 512 digits between 9681 and 10193 for 50 guitars, so these Century were not made in one batch but as orders came in.

The 9681 on ebay at the moment is only the second I saw there in all the years I've been interested in weird Adamas!!!

If I compare that to the Mill CB, supposedly 75 made, I've seen about 10 of these for sale in the same years, so the Century maths don't add up.

Mind you, it's not the worse... I'm following a particular batch of supposedly 1000 special Flying V from Gibson, well guess what... 6 second hand sales in 10 years, the serials don't follow the batch number with the same offset, some offsets are even negative (176-090033 and 164-090039) and I haven't found one with a batch number higher than this 176...
