I just bought a 1976 1617-1 legend that looks very clean but have some questions....There were no shims under the saddle....and I would like to have the option of lowering the action if wanted/needed.........Does the fact that there are no shims imply that the neck may have issues? Also, does anyone know what tool is needed for adjusting the truss rod on this guitar - and where the tool might be bought...the access is at the headstock....I saw a thread here in which someone had stated that their vintage ovation needed a neck re-set and it appeared that it was the lack of shims, and the resulting inability to adjust the saddle height via shims lower, that indicated the need for the neck reset......I can still return the guitar so am trying to sort out what problems may be present.
