Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Update-- My Pacemaker is in Windsor, CT. It is sitting in delivery vehicle, baking in the sun, waiting "to be delivered next business day." At least Fed Ex vans are white. Here is what it looks like.
And this is the string height. I neglected to put anything in the picture for size reference. Oops! But I am far from tech-savvy.
[Oh yeah there is, figure that flip-over plastic brace-thing on the stand is 1/4 inch thick. Which is about the string-height]
I'm guessing that I will hear from John and the other Wizards sometime this coming week.
Just looking for morale-support...
Just like any parent when one of the kids is in the hospital. :rolleyes: |

Location: South of most, North of few | Don't worry-be happy. If you're willing to pay the price, it will come back "as new". A little tip: they will not charge you anywhere near what the work is worth on that guitar. If you really like the guitar (and that one's a keeper IMHO) get it completely refurbish. You will end up with a great sounding and looking guitar that you can't just walk into a store and buy new now. Another tip: (get them to put a GC truss rod cover on it. It really dresses it up!) |

I will be Really Really Happy once I get it back!
Here is their Assessment...

If a car, refrigerator, or computer needed comparable work it would be written of as "Totaled", a off to the scap yard it would go. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Their just dedicated! I mentioned that in the "Marketing" thread. What other company will fix a 33 year-old product? They'd tell you to Get a Life, and buy a new one.
This will be my most expensive guitar, but I liked it when it was screw-up. It has been previously said, But I am gonna end-up with a Primo guitar, without the primo price.
I've seen straight Pacemakers (Not GC 1118's) listed on eBarf for over $1K starting bid. So someone must think that it is worth that much.
[I hope that they lose my guitar case, and have to send me a new one :rolleyes: ] |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Yes, and it actually wasn't as bad as it sounds. But the strings were high, and there is a crack below the bridge.
I didn't know how they were gonna do it, I just let them check it out to see what could be done for it.
The neck needed reset, and the wood in the middle of the five-piece neck was pushing out. For not (that) much more than a neck reset, I'll get a (mostly) new guitar!
I was misled when I bought it...

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I don't think so Vic. I really thought about asking John about changing the color of the top, but I don't know if that would cost extra or what. (It is costing me more than I paid for the guitar already)
Natural is good, it had a nice color. Unfortunately it took 33 years to get that way!
I already emailed John Budny to approve the work, maybe I ought to type at him again and ask.
I know that I don't want black, and barn-burst looks like it is TRYING to look old. Honey-Burst is nice. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | My '69 1115-1 burst is rare...most were natural. It needs similar work done...I bought it in that condition for $200.00, so even if it costs $300 more to get it straight, it wil be a great vintage guitar for about what these go fo used. |

Location: Copenhagen Denmark | Arthur,yes give John a call,Ovation sunburst is Nice,unless you like the "tear-drop" thing that Gibson does,and like Mike says :" burst is rare"..so if it is only for a few dolars more..
