Location: Rochester, New York USA | Hi All, I recently bought an excellent condition 2009 Ovation Custom Legend LX that needs a neck reset. Has anyone ever done this themselves to an Ovation with the three-bolt, bolt-on neck Ovation Advanced Neck System? Some Background: Back in 2011, I purchased an excellent-condition 2007 Adamas 2080 NWT with the same Advanced Neck System. It also needed a neck reset. I took the guitar to Ovation in New Hartford, I left it there and 10 days and $250 later, I received it back as good as new. Being that the same neck reset would likely be more costly today and that I don't have any plans to go to Connecticut for another 8 months: Can anyone direct me to any information or a video that explains how to do a neck reset on an Ovation with the Advanced Neck System? Thanks!

Location: Jet City | Ren-Ovation Nation is a group on Facebook full of folks that could help with techniques. Some of the factory guys hang out there too.
If you want to contact Ovation about it, Chris Hamel is doing Customer Service for them currently. You can email him at chamel@gewamusicusa.com

Location: Rochester, New York USA | Damon, Thank You, Kindly! The guitar sounds and plays great but the shim removal is at its end. I'll do what you suggest to hopefully enable my new old Ovation Custom Legend LX to sing for many years to come! Regards, Ken |
