The "My first Ovation" thread has gotten me to start thinking (I hate when that happens).

I thought my first was a Balladeer around 1985/6. However, looking in the archives, it doesn't look like they made a Balladeer in the color I had. I think it was "Barn Board" color. It was definitely had a mid bowl, non-cutaway, with chrome tuners, center hole, and dots for fret markers. I paid about $450 new.

Looking thru the price guide and archives on O's site, I am coming up with a Ultra that matches the description and price range. Does anyone have either a picture of a Barn Board colored guitar, especially an Ultra?

Does anyone have this guitar?

I saw an Ultra 1528 for sale on Tallahasse Fl craigslist a little less than a year ago. I remember not knowing what the color was and posted here about it. The consensus was "Barn Burst". Haven't seen another one.

I had a Celibacy in that color.
Also, that's the color of the '83 Collector. (it looks darker in this pic)

Yes, it was definitely that color. I don't recall it saying Ultra anywhere, but maybe. I know it wasn't a 83 collector's. It didn't have a cutaway either.

I don't believe there was ever such thing as a mid depth NON cutaway. The deep bowl non cutaway Ultras in barn finsh were quite popular. I'd be willing to bet it was one of those. Dave

Maybe it was deep. Or cutaway. I can't remember yesterday.

You may be right. I may be crazy...
