Done the drive many times. Your time wil be entirely dependent on the time of day you go. There are several "choke points" but if you can traverse the NY sections any time outside of rush hour you should be OK with 2.5-3 hours.
It is not an unpleasant drive (which 95 through the city can be).

I'd be going on Saturday Oct 6.
Normally if a got to go to NYC area I drive to New Haven and get a train. In this case 2.5 hours to Grand central then walk a mile to Penn Station get another
train for 1.5 hours Morristown Station.

Thanks for the help guys.

How much time you got? If you want to avoid the TZ Bridge as well, keep going north on 9 to the Bear Mtn. Bridge. Then you pick up the Palisades Pkwy. South. Nice ride.

Can't help you. I try to avoid the city. When we go south from CT I go to Scranton Pa before I make a left turn.

Elvira and Loraine Newman are almost worth the trip.

Going to Dover? Get on I-84, head west past Port Jervis to near Milford. Go down 206 thru Sparta. Then 15 and follow the signs. That's just a guess, it is longer, but that would be a whole lot prettier than driving through that Bergen County mess. And depending on the traffic, it could be faster. That is kinda coming in the back way. And it's mostly country.

Sparta's nice, Lake Mohawk is nice, Del Water Gap is nice... Don't know about Dover.

Going on the TZ is the right choice.

From what Joe Monks been told (he went blind in
2001 did not stop from directing movies starting in 2004.) Elvira looks great and you never guess she is pushing 60 and still wearing that same skimpy outfit.

The directions/time sounds about right.

TZ is like $4. There are no tolls on 287.

The train-thing won't work, cuz it'll get you to MoTown, but it's still a ways to go t'get to Parsnippany . . .
The Hilton's fairly easy t'find on 202.
The 206/15-thing is nice, but that's a LONG way t'go (I lived in Lake Mohawk for years) and you can easily get lost. 287's a straight-shot of Interstate. Sat. morn/aftn. won't be bad. Mebbe just some LeafPeeper traffic . . .

I remember Zacherle from TV when I was little.
He worked an FM-Rock station here for a while as well . . .

Enjoy the Show!
