There are several "choke points" but if you can traverse the NY sections any time outside of rush hour you should be OK with 2.5-3 hours. It is not an unpleasant drive (which 95 through the city can be).

Get on I-84, head west past Port Jervis to near Milford. Go down 206 thru Sparta. Then 15 and follow the signs. That's just a guess, it is longer, but that would be a whole lot prettier than driving through that Bergen County mess. And depending on the traffic, it could be faster. That is kinda coming in the back way. And it's mostly country. Sparta's nice, Lake Mohawk is nice, Del Water Gap is nice... Don't know about Dover.

The train-thing won't work, cuz it'll get you to MoTown, but it's still a ways to go t'get to Parsnippany . . . The Hilton's fairly easy t'find on 202. The 206/15-thing is nice, but that's a LONG way t'go (I lived in Lake Mohawk for years) and you can easily get lost. 287's a straight-shot of Interstate. Sat. morn/aftn. won't be bad. Mebbe just some LeafPeeper traffic . . . I remember Zacherle from TV when I was little. He worked an FM-Rock station here for a while as well . . . Enjoy the Show!
