Location: Pewaukee, WI | Just purchased a used CC059 nylon. It's shallow bowl but doesn't have the Op-20 electronics (has a separate battery compartment and a 4 slider electronics unit, no tuner). Any idea when they changed the electronics? Did the Op-20 come first, or later?

Location: Pueblo West, CO | Looking through the catalogs on Jerome's site, the CC059 doesn't appear until the 2002 MY.
In all the catalogs I saw that had the CC059, the catalogs say these guitars got the OP20.
The 2000 MY catalog shows several types of preamps. The only one with a 4-slider model is the DJ-4, but that catalog doesn't have the CC059 guitar.
The 2001 catalog still shows the DJ-4, but again, no CC059.
The CC059 was introduced in 2002, the same year as the OP20.
Because the factory probably still had DJ-4 preamps in stock, or the OP20 was not yet delivered to the factory, they probably put the DJ-4 into the earlier CC059.
If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say yours is a transitional model, probably 2002.
