And I thought I would have more time to waste after I retired.

Glory days of 2005. Then, years later, members like me came along who were politely weaned away from talking about our baseball player puke and pubic hair collections.. and here we are. But I digress. What once was only "was". The term "re-create" is an oxymoron. Can't be done. The Old Dominion Syndrome. Lucky for those who came before. Still a good site though. And still curious on the 1537 count.
PS: I miss Nancy.

Several times, but most times I already had. Turns out I wasn't as clever as I thought I was back then.

Me.

I miss Nancy, too. We had corresponded via email numerous times and had set up a meet at her place when I was in town, but it turned into a blizzard. I had no idea at the time she was so ill or I would have found a way to get to see her.

And I miss Alison. I went to see her to pick up a Patriot and she mentioned she was ill. It was a bitter-sweet meeting for sure. Shortly after I sent her my 6778LX for one of her students, and it wasn't long after that she was gone.

Finally, I agree with Mark in Boise - where is all the time we are supposed to have in retirement?

I miss Nancy too.

I never met her in person, nor spoke to her. But we connected, here at the OFC, and corresponded and shared things that were important to her and to me.

I miss her, and the fun that she bought to this forum.

Never told this Nancy story before. There was a time in the OFC when some folks got ticked and splintered off and created another forum. Nancy was one of those people. I joined it under another name and posted that we should be getting along, not arguing. Evidently, she took umbrage with that a ripped me (under the other profile) a new one. All I could do was laugh.

About 5-6 years ago, when she was putting together her Nan Cave, I sent her, as a gift, my 3x large Ovation embossed Levi jacket (worn at several OFC gatherings). What fit at 265 lbs, was huge on me at 218 lbs (Damon has it now and had better be wearing it!).

Those were my only encounters with Nancy. One made me laugh and the other, smile.......
