There is something magical, to me, about these 12-fret-12-strings, with the deep, booming bodies. Just wish I had more talent & expertise. I can provide TLC, though. And, yes, this is a very special place.

Black is the only color I have ever seen one.. but as Moody said, there was a natural -4 model.. and that is something I will definitely keep on my wish list.

I always feel guilty about having too much guitars that don't get played, so I am down to 2 telecasters, a solid wood Epiphone acoustic and 2 Ovations, a 1613 and a 1614. Wanted list: a Peacemaker, a 1624 and a beater 1614 - yes, I am too scared that something may happen to my beloved Folklore.</p> Edited by mimmo 2021-10-22 1:35 AM

The cases are banned in the basement. We live in a 70m² rented appartment, thus my (heroic) spouse has to live with all this. And there are 2 guitars in my workshop...and the travel guitar in the closet. And the 1913s "schrammel" (on the right, not to be seen on this pic). The other intruments are hanging in the corridor.

I don't play it much (I prefer my Country Artist), but every time I take it down, I'm impressed with how great it sounds. I keep telling myself that someday I'll replace the neck with a wooden one.

It took some careful work with a hacksaw blade, ground to standard fret tang requirements, then installed the new fretwires, leveled the fret tops, & renewed an old warrior to continuing services. The instrument was last reported floating down a nearby river, but that's another story.

The other issue of neck replacement is finding the neck with the correct scale length, regardless to cost. This diversion of topical content is verging on BFLG territory, anyway. If you're serious about getting a wood neck, send up a kite to the membership. Maybe, one of our brethren has one in their surplus supplies.

Maybe I'll sell a couple more and buy Bill's slothead. Probably a better investment than my stocks at the moment...

I am down to 7, but one is always in a case due to room on the walls. I'm wondering if one more guitar should go. Never used to think like that but then I'm 20 years older than I was when I joined the OFC (March 2002). Needs, desires, priorities all change.........

I am letting the guitar settle in for a few days, before tuning it up. It really is a lovely & well-maintained instrument and will receive continued good care. In keeping with the season, I am blessed, & pass on those blessings & good wishes to all our members. Be well & happy- it beats the alternative, all-to-heck!
