Who else here had a stack of his sheet music as a teen? Edited by Love O Fair 2021-05-30 1:56 AM

I played and sang it for my Mom at her 80th birthday party, accompanied by our daughter on her '87 Collector's Edition Ovation. He's right up there with Jim Croce as the artist that I've listened to the most times.

I didn't have any Glen Campbell records, tapes or CDs until about 10 years ago and I haven't really tried to learn to play any of his songs. When I try to learn a song I play it over and over. I do remember hearing Wichita Lineman a lot on the radio when it first came out and I was working nights.

I also didn't appreciate his contribution to Ovation. Ovations were everywhere in the 70s, so I saw them with Bread, America, Croce, Cat Stevens, Neil Diamond and seemingly everyone. Then I went into hibernation and didn't have a TV from 1975 to the late 80s, so I didn't see what guitars people were playing unless I saw them on an album cover or poster. Rhinestone Cowboy was also on the radio a lot, but Glen was either a little too country or off the deep end for me at the time.
