For all of you to enjoy and ponder, are some old slide/film scanned pics of a Custom 12 string for Henry Paul.

Anyone have history on this one?

(BTW, This is a long overdue follow-up to the following archived thread.)

Damn that's cool! I wonder where it's at now??!!!?

I believe the late great Big Dave Fiester of the Henry Paul band played a role in the creation of the PF-22.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

Thank you TJR !! It's nice to see there are still "surprises" in the Ovation solid-body realm. If things are true to form, and very little is but a guy can dream... I suspect there is more than one of these out there. Maybe only two, but it seems they had a tendency to make at least two units when it came to one-offs of special guitars. While I have had the supposed only "wood topped" UKII, I suspect there might be another one out there. But who knows.. wishful thinking maybe.

Is it just me, or it that one of the few solid-body 12-strings (from anyone) that actually looks balanced? Such a shame the PF-22 never really made it to production, although with as many that have showed up over the years... I'm thinking saying it's not a production model may be a little bit of a misnomer. It was advertised or marketed, but it looks like what was supposed to be only 22 units, is now up to about 30 units I have seen.

I'm glad to share some of this history, though I wish I could fill in the blanks a bit more on some of the items. I'm pretty sure that is Nick Mackin in the shots. He'd probably have some answers. I'll keep my eye out for any other memos or documents regarding this or other PF22's.

This one has the active pre-amp in place, mini humbuckers mounted in UKII surrounds. Certainly an interesting creation.

I may be wrong but the custom labeling certainly looks like the old school press type lettering ?

So, here's another batch of pics from the same 'photo shoot'.
