Joined: May 2011 Posts: 755 Location: Muenster/Germany | I don´t know the bowl material, it´s the old, heavier stuff. But the 1119 necks are the old ones, too, the period before the Kaman bar necks. These guitars sound incredible and are IMHO the best playable Ovations ever. Very hard to find in Europe. If you can buy one of these, grab it no matter what condition. Use light strings only. | ||

From the photos it looks like new(except for the case) If it doesn't have a truss rod cover then it is a Kaman bar neck-the Kaman bar neck has the truss rod adjustment inside the bowl.It is probably a SMC bowl heavier/thicker fiberglass than the hand laid bowls of the 70's but an 1119 is a great guitar either way,what year is it- from 82 on it would be kaman bar/smc bowl. What link didn't work for you??? | ||
