Location: Troutdale oregon | Does anyone here use 11’s on your ovation 12 strings in standard tuning without problems developing or do you tune down. I’m using 10’s at the moment on my 6756lx no problems of course. Just curious.
Thanks |

| I have 11 gauge on one of my 12's, but I tune to D-D and capo. I have a few songs that use D-D and the rest E-E so it works well.
Why the interest in going to 11's?

Location: Troutdale oregon | Thought I might get a little different sound , fuller or a little heavier maybe. But I’d rather not tune down. But if will cause problems I’ll stay with the 10’s.
Thanks for the response. |

Either drop 11s to D or stay with 10s just for guitar' health and your pocket. Try different brand, Elixir Nanoweb or new d'Addario coated if you want something new ;-) Just my 2 cents

Location: moline, illinois | I use .10's on all my 12 strings,if you want to go to a heavier gauge use a lower tension string like silk and steels or Thomastik-Infeld.
If you want a different sound try a retro string like nickle-bronze.2 more cents for you LOL

Agree with Kevin. I tried both d'addario EJ35 (Silk 11-47) and NB1047 (Nickel Bronze) they sounds quite good.
