Location: Louisville, Kentucky | Hello, Ovation Friends!!

I just ordered and received a 1974 Ovation 1114. It's missing the tail strap button. After doing some research I have discovered that the strap button screws are different. I would like to locate a strap button (black) and screw for the end! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Do you still have the "mollie" stuck in the bowl?
If so, that takes a Fine Thread machine screw.
I don't know the "pitch" and such....
But if you take your guitar down to a REAL hardware store, they should be able to help.

Also, I see that you have been lurking for two years....
I have upgraded you to a "member" so you can use the pool and sauna now.

Location: Louisville, Kentucky | The "mollie" is still there. I have looked the internet over and I can't find anything specific for the Ovation.
Thanks for the advise. I'll go shopping tomorrow. |

Location: Louisville, Kentucky | Ok, I'm kinda new to this stuff and obviously a little ignorant. I fell in love with Ovations in the early 70's, but being right out of high school i couldn't afford one. I was working a a music store that sold them. All I could do was look and maybe play as few simple chords. After retirement a few years ago i decided to start playing guitar and really be serious about it. Anyway, long story short, I now have 7 Ovations and love every one.

That being said, my latest acquisition is a 1974 1114-4. I've dated it with the "Chart" and labeled it as a Folklore.

My question is, is a 1974 Folklore and a Josh White the same? |

If it don't say Josh White, it is a Folklore.
