Location: Vlissingen, Netherlands | I own a brand new Legend Lx 2077 with an op-pro studio preamp, it's my first Ovation. It has worked fine for the last weeks, but now I'm hearing a low buzzing noise through my AER-amp, even with drive and gain on the Op turned down. It has become louder with a new battery installed. Is this a known issue with the op-pro studio? |

Location: NJ | check your cable, maybe swap it out.
make sure the internal connections from the jack to the preamp and the pickup to the preamp are all solid |

| Welcome. Very nice guitar.
Don't recall anybody having this problem but someone will chime in with suggestions any minute I would think. Tho Sunday evenings are not the busiest time here - most members like to post while they're being paid to do something else.
If the guitar is new it will still be under warranty - take it back to the dealer if nobody comes up with an obvious solution. |

I have the idea that the drive-knob in connection with the exciter doesn't work at all, though I realize it's a subtle adjustment. Perhaps that's what causing the hum. Bad luck. It's really a fine instrument with a natural cedar top. Hope someone comes up with a solution, otherwise, I'll take it back to the dealer. |

Subtle... Best described like being hit in the head with a brick wrapped with a twist of lime.
To quote myself: The "Expessor" slider *should* say "Skinny" at the bottom, and "Fat" at the top.
The "Drive" control should maybe be labelled "Growl" or perhaps "Rumble"and should me marked that it goes to "11". I believe you may have a bad pre-amp. Work with your dealer or contact the mothership. |

Location: Vlissingen, Netherlands | Well, the story continues..I took it to the dealer and yesterdayI got my guitar back (after eight weeks). Nothing has changed. It's still there, the hum. I've made an MP3. This is what I hear with the gain on the Op turned down and the volume on the amp a bit up:

but try to connect other guitar to Your AER.
it might not be problem with Your guitar. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | A longshot, but try a different outlet, or make sure the outlet you are using is properly grounded, and if all else continues to fail, shut off all the neon signs. |

And to be honest, I don't know if I would take a chance with an Ovation again. Or perhaps an older model with an traditional Op.... |

Location: Denmark | ... Is it paranoia? Probably not. That has a different sound. I had hum experiences with two Ovations and no real support from the representative. One Celebrity and one Adamas. The good service and guarantee is only for US (and apparently south-african) customers. So if you depend on the electric function I think reversing the deal is a wise step. |
