So I'd like to get a rough idea how much a custom Adamas would cost me. Is there anyone on here that I can give my description to and get a price from? Al maybe?

Look at the "Custom" choices on the Adamas website and give Al a call. There are bunches of variables for a custom job, so the price range has to be large.

I'm sure I'll fall out of my chair when I get the price from Al but it'll give me something to work towards.

One of my main reasons for the custom Adamas is I need to play a super shallow bowl due to back problems. I haven't been able to find and SSB Adamas so I figure rather than settling for any SSB that comes along I might as well get something built the way I want and with the options I want. I think it'll be a pretty awsome guitar!

I believe someone was selling a SSB Adamas I or II not long ago. Real nice looking, maybe someone will refresh my memory.

I BELIEVE that was a 12 string. I could very well be wrong.

Dear Scartozi

it looks like you having a hard time trying to squeeze out a price frame for an adamas cs from
our friends here at OFC.
I am myself quite new in these circles compared to the collective expertise gathered here att OFC but I´ll try to give you a rough idea.

First of all thank God for being stationed in the same country as the mother ship. I live in Scandinavia on the other side of the globe and here the price frame on the adamas guitars are a totally different story compared to the us. I might be wrong but according to my research the price floats around $3000-4000 and for some exeptional work it can climb up to $5000. I´m close to ordering a 2080 CS Namm 2007 (for display at ovation tribute)but to get it to Scandinavia they want me to throw in $6500

So there you have it - you have to pay to play these wonderful little pieces of work called adamas, but as I said before it´s a whole different story to play adamas in the us compared to the other parts of the world.

Nobody's trying to be evasive. Dealers have agreements they have to abide by and the rest of us probably can't give an opinion that is worth anything. If you know what you want specifically, call Al and give him the specs. He can get you a price after he talks to the factory. That's better than guessing and he's not bad to talk to. He doesn't try to get you to come down to the dealership and lock you up until he closes the deal, like some car dealer.

The process is very simple

1. Decide what features you want
2. Go to an authorized dealer and request a quote
3. The dealer will obtain the quote from his sales rep and inform you of the price

Some dealers don't want the hastle (and risk) of doing custom orders. Others thrive on it. Lost Art Vintage is the best there is. Take everyone's advice and go down that path.

The ONLY way to know (even about what it might cost) is to tell your dealer what you want and have them price it out...

DO NOT listen to anyone else about what they think it might cost, unless you are asking them what their specific guitar custom guitar cost... even then, there is no guarantee that an identical custom will cost the same when built at a later date or sold by another dealer.

Talk to your dealer (I hear Al's available all hours of the night)

I've contacted Al and gave him the specs. I'm awaiting a reply. When the time comes I'll definately go with Al.

I went to a guitar shop yesterday who is on Adamas's website as a place to order custom guitars When I asked the guy about it he kinda turned his head like a dog when he hears a funny noise. Needless to say I didn't take the conversation to far.

So I'll "keep it in the family" so to speak and give my business to Al.
