| I've been looking to buy something like a 1617, 1619 or 1719 but there isn't much sales history available to determine their value.
Right now there's a 1619 listed for $1,500. They say it was made in 1979 and list the condition as "very good" (just a couple small finish checks).
Is that a fair asking price? There are a couple 30th anniversary commemorative editions of the 1719 listed for less in the same condition, so I'm guessing that's a little high?

Ha, that's what I'm trying to decide... it would be so much easier if I could hear it side-by-side with the lower-priced 1719s.
I understand something is "worth" whatever someone is willing to pay, but no one wants to get ripped off. I'd feel pretty dumb if I bought it for $1500 only to realize they regularly sell for half that.

Location: moline,illinois | 1619's are getting hard to find but that price seems a little high, the 1719 CM30 is a anniversary edition of the first one made in 1974 and has the same design as as 1619 with better electronics and a bear claw spruce top so while the 1619 might have an appeal if your looking for a vintage custom legend the 1719 is just as good IHMO

Location: Texas | All I can say is that I wouldn't pay that for a CL. Yep, they are top of the line for any given year, but O's are very reasonably priced right now. Yes...they are a little rarer to find than most Ovations, but...they will show up.
Make sure you look on Ebay, guitar center and Reverb ... you can get an idea of the secondary market...
