 | I bought my first Ovation in 1975.  It was an 1121 with the Artist Bowl.  I think I paid $375 for it and I could barely afford it.  As life happens, I needed some money and I sold it.  As I made my way back to Ovation in 2004 with the purchase of the 1719-30-CL, I often wondered about my old Artist. I found a 1621 Artist on Reverb and left it on the computer screen to handle a horse emergency outside.  When I came back inside, my wife was looking at the computer and asked me about this guitar.  I explained what happened to my old one, pre-her, and she insisted on buying it for me to celebrate our wedding anniversary.    A new set of strings on it’s arrival and it’s a thrill to play.

 | 1111-4 bought new in 1971 for (as I recall) $200. Rode hard and put away banged up, but I still have it. |

 | I have a 1971 1111-4 Balladeer, bought new for $350.00. Still use it. Retrofitted with a Fishman under saddle pickup. |

Horses are just fine. Apparently, what they consider an emergency with all the noise and ruckus they create, isn't necessary an emergency at all.
