Location: Gardnerville, NV | I was lucky enough to work in the South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe from the mid 70s through Spring of 1990. I saw Roy Clark perform this probably 150 times. Always with an Adamas 1 12-string, usually a 1687-9.
The guitar sat idle on its stand throughout the show, until he performed this song. Malaguena was the last tune of the set and it thrilled me as much the last time I heard it as it did the first. Truly one of a kind.

Location: Indiana | I did a show with Mr. Clark when I was 13... 46 years ago.
He signed my guitar strap... faded now, far more than the memory.
Quite a day.
What a talent. |
