But I really never liked this song from the first time I heard it...( I did listen to the Jon Randall's version: a bit better, but the whole premise of the song sucks! ( ) well it just does... But the one on the album that will make you look for a high bridge is "Jacob's Dream" a mornful, ultra depressing song about two lost children who died in the cold when no one could find them...You won't need the "Bottle" after this one... That said, "Lay Down Beside Me" the new duet w/John Waite is fantastic; definatly the best on the CD...And the lap steel work by Jerry Douglas is so great...what tone...

Melonie Cannon Whisky Lullaby clip The lyrics and story of that song are a bit different than most, but that's okay by me. ;) But the one on the album that will make you look for a high bridge is "Jacob's Dream" a mornful, ultra depressing song about two lost children who died in the cold when no one could find them...You won't need the "Bottle" after this one... I agree that the rest of that CD is good. I like some of her others better, actually, and Jacob's Dream is just about too depressing to listen to... ;)That said, "Lay Down Beside Me" the new duet w/John Waite is fantastic; definatly the best on the CD...And the lap steel work by Jerry Douglas is so great...what tone...

While I have not heard them all (6-7 tunes) I have liked "most" of them. I felt the others missed by a mile (but then most CD's are like that these days). Interesting team up and not all that bad. Of what I have heard, I would rate it a 7.5 - 8.5
