Just a simple tune that I thought might be worth sharing. Forgive me for the low quality video and audio, but hoping that the core theme gets across. I recognize being a relative OFC newbie (2012) and living in Asia, could limit the reception of such an articulation, but after reviewing it a couple of times, it felt authentic; so I thought it might be appropriate to share it... Always seem to have trouble embedding videos, so a link is provided below. Despite all that's happened since joining the OFC, IMHO I think DW took a good crack at keeping things going at NH. The Mothership won't be the same outside of that historic brick and morter factory. Still, hoping and praying USA production will continue. Although I'm no USA only snob, O without a Mothership is like a pizza without the crust. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts on the song; and would surely love to hear any inspiration that is coming your way (meaning please post videos of you all playin' your Os)! Thanks for letting me share and thanks for listening. Lyrics: Edited by arumako 2018-08-06 8:58 PM

Changed FMC to FMIC (text) on the YouTube sight...and now that I think about it, I think I mispronounced Kaman! Sheesh...need to do another take... Thanks a bunch! Vincent is looking quite perky, and was a very fitting choice to accompany you on your awesome Ovation tribute song. Thank you for sharing it! I wish I could reciprocate, but every time I try to record anything the resulting howl of the neighborhood dogs drowns out my voice and guitar, so I'll have to work on that. In the meantime, thanks again for letting us hear your song! Edited by Love O Fair 2018-08-07 12:39 AM

Bill....keep in mind that no one ever wrote a song about anything MY dad did, or that 99% of anyone did. Your dad was really something...

I really love the "12th Fretter" 97C. With its Touch Sensitive Pre-amp and completely re-designed "Parlor" Bowl, she still is a marvel of innovation (at least to me). Like Al said, she was a very fitting choice for this task. Would be cool if you could share a video too! Thanks for the nice comment Darkbar. I feel honored that a player of your talents would even care to chime in. Since I've never been to the Mothership and have never personally met any of you guys, sharing the song from Asia (though I am a US citizen) felt a bit risky. Some OFCers worked at the Mothership, others were dealers with close ties to the Kaman family, still others use their instruments professionally, one in particular is in the song for cryin' out loud. I'm hoping those folks can take the "if nothing else" perspective and bare with my folk tale-ish outsider's view! Btw, you haven't uploaded any videos at "acoustisongs" in years. Anything new in the wings forya? Edited by arumako 2018-08-08 8:56 AM

Thanks for the kind words. No...due to health issues there probably won't be many, if any, new Acoustisongs videos. Happy with the good run I've had tho, and I'm still playing just about everyday.

Happy with the good run I've had tho, and I'm still playing just about everyday. Truly sorry to hear this. I can relate to health issues what with awaiting a spinal fusion in my neck and rods in my lower back. After 18 times of going through the front I guess they figure it's time to flip me over! Not looking forward at all to another round and all the requisite aftermath. By the way, for the neck spine fusion they're going through the front. MAYBE I'll end up with a vocal chords displacement that will make me sound like Joe Cocker. Anything would be an improvement. Take care.

Many people could be walking around today with whole new singing voices thanks to the death of (pick a singer). Not that your singing voice is bad, Dave, but maybe you could start a medical and legal lobby for that before your surgery. If it comes to be, and a favorite singer is laying on their death bed, you could get on the donor list. Or.. on second thought.. maybe ideas like this one are the reason I flunked out of medical school.

The basic scale progression so easily just fit right in. >>>Another reason to just stop<<< Geeze man.. you're sounding as if we need to keep you away from sharp objects and cyanide capsules. You're scaring me.

Your videos are helpful, educational and really easy to follow for mediocre hacks like me. You've had a great run up to this point, but I hope you'll continue uploading great lessons as time/health permits! Glad you're back!
