Just curious:

Anyone know if the Tamo Ash Vipers sound as good as the Vipers with a natural Top? They look awesome but I wouldn't want to give up tone for looks.

Thanks!

Jim

If you are talking about the EA model of Vipers...they have no acoustic value at all. They are chambered solid body electric acoustic...much like their Gibson counterpart steel and nylon

Hi Jay:
Thanks for the reply. However, I should clarify I'm talking about the tone when the Vipers are plugged into an acoustic amp. I can see now I should have made that more clear in my post.

I am still going to say that, due to the construction of the vipers, the difference, if any, would be imperceptible.

Beal, Dan or Jonmark could probably give you an educated response.

You could only tell the difference in tone if your eyes were open when playing the two side by side.

That is really funny, in a good way.. It's amazing how all the cooler looking bikes sound better and go faster, the cooler looking guitars have better action, easier to play and sound better.. Even the hotter looking women are.... oh nevermind, I'll skip that one.

The red ones sound the best, but red wasn't one of your options.

Pretty guitars have better tone much in the same manner as vacation money is worth more than bill-pay money.

When the EA vipers are set up the same, i.e., same strings of the same age, same set up, same string height, same eq, etc., I found no difference in tone between my four models.
