Location: closely held secret | That's just how bright the Sun is. Even at 99%, the Sun is still ~10,000 times brighter than it would be during totality.

Location: Boise, Idaho | We were at 99.5%. It was like a cloud went over for a couple minutes, but enough for lights to come on. A few miles north was totality and it got very dark and suddenly cooler. I can say I saw it, if anyone cares. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I rode my bicycle 30 miles down to Silverton, OR on Sunday.
That was the area of Totality. Portland had 99.4%.
It was worth the long ride down and back.
(I rode 65 miles over 33 hours, and I still hurt)
About 15 miles outside of Portland I realized that my Eclipse Glasses, my Smart Phone, and my Camera are back in my room sitting on the desk in front of my computer.
There were all kinds of "Events" but I watched the Eclipse in a Safeway parking lot with a bunch of locals.
A nice Lady gave me a pair of Eclipse Glasses. And I played guitar for the local folk (without an amp).
It was a great experience.
Yeah... No photos. But I will remember. 1 minute and 43 seconds of Totality.

Location: When?? | Ah.. okay.. got it.. eclipse viewer. I slept through the whole thing, but seeing your funny photo was probably more enjoyable than what I would have seen of an eclipse from here anyway. Nice job! |
