I have two of these so letting one go. A few years ago the guitar went back to the mothership to have a crack repaired and the top was refinished in the process. The area that was repaired is as smooth as the rest of the top -- it was fantastic job. During repair the epaulettes were replaced to what I believe are the same ones fitted to the Adamii. This thing plays like a champ and works as intended.

$1150 to the lower 48 + S&H

While checking out the electronics after I'd received an inquiry, it was discovered that when plugged into the stereo jack, the A and B strings do not come through the amp. When plugged into the mono jack, all strings ring through the amp. I only play my acoustics acoustically and it's been sometime since I had plugged it in -- probably when I first received it. With that in mind, I'm reducing the price to $1050.

That's an interesting combination of silent strings. The stereo pickup is odd/even strings, so one wouldn't expect the 2nd and 5th to be silent but the remainder working in stereo, while all work in mono.

The 1537 is a really nice guitar. That's a great price, and if I hadn't found mine a few years ago I'd be on this one. Good luck with the sale.

You're right, it's the G and A strings, not B. ::eyeroll at self::

I'm amazed that nobody's jumped on this. One of Ovation's best guitars (and I include Adamii in that evaluation) for a steal of a price. I've had mine since 1996 and it's still my number 1 (and I've never used the stereo electronics).......

Hello, Everyone,
There is currently a 12-String version, ( c.1984?) of one of these for sale right here in the Ottawa area, (Ottawa/Gatineau KIJIJI), for about the same price in CAD, but I can't afford it, and get this..?...the owner keeps changing her mind about the sale?! One week, it's listed, one week, it's not, so it remains yet another elusive Ovation for moi. It also has stereo electronics, which are KILLER, if used properly, BTW!! However, back in the day, they were activated with a stereo Y-plug adapter, supplied with all the Ovation guitar wired for stereo at the time. I had a 1763-4 Legend Classical Deep Bowl Cutaway, with both stereo and mono jacks. I used the supplied adapter, and went through the stereo jack for a wedding in my church,( no, not mine, ladies and gentleman,) and the guitar's pickup signal went straight into the PA. That's the way Ovation pickups were originally designed, am I right? So then, on my Ovation Classical, Strings 6, 4, and 2 went in one side, ( left channel) and strings 1, 3, and 5 went in the the other, ( right channel), so it was a full stereo output. The groom later told me it sounded like 2 guitars were being played at once, but as I recall, the sound guy also told me that he put a bit of chorus, and reverb into the mix. I can't use pedals at all, so whatever he did worked! I should have NEVER sold that guitar. " I'M A BAD BOY, ABBOT!"

I just got back from a 3 week trip to the UK or I'd be all over this. Gotta finish paying for that. My brother had one and I loved it.

I'm not "crazy" about the 2 strings not coming through in stereo, but is this guitar still for sale?

Looking at the dates, hard to imagine this guitar is still for sale - but why would this thread pop to the top? If it is, I'm interested.
