A search of the forum failed to turn up anything recent on the Fishman Aura Spectrum, so I'm wondering...

Anyone have good luck using one on a deep-bowl Ovation?

Fishman supplies images for a handful of shallow-bowl models, but not for anything like my trusty 1976 Folklore 1614.

I find myself gigging with my newish Martin and my new Guild lots more than with the Ovation, because they just sound better amplified. But I hate letting the Folklore slip out of circulation.

Help! Thanks.

You're getting no love on here, so I'll chime in.

I have not used the Fishman Aura, but I do use the Roland AD-8, or my AC-60 amp as a pre-shape before going into a mixer board. It worked a lot better than the Fishman Pro EQ Platinum that I had before those. I do realize the Aura is newer, but comparing it to some other options might be a good thing. TC Electronics have some interesting products too, but typically outta my price range.

I don't understand the problem, or the question. (one or the other)
My 1614 works just fine with stacked tone/volume knobs.

If you want to "tailor" your sound, get an EQ pedal.
I have two cheap Behringer pedals that I use with guitars that have a passive direct-out pickup.
But any of my acoustic electric guitars that have a battery preamp already sound fine.

Low budget pedals that I run to my Roland CubeStreet battery-powered amp.

I have a Fishman Aura Spectrum and love it, very fun toy to have when recording or playing outside.

The Aura has a compressor knob, which comes in handy

Thanks for the thoughts, folks. I'm sorry that you didn't understand my question, Old Man Arthur. Perhaps it's more likely that you just don't agree with my opinion of the Folklore's electronics, and that's fine. Different strokes and all.

Thanks for your thoughts on pedals as well. I do use a Boss AD-2 Acoustic Preamp, which helps — especially the sweepable feedback control knob...
