| I bought a Ultra today with serial # 263537 which seems to identify it as a 1981
But it appears as though the Ultra production began in 1982
The model # is 1527 with a natural top
Any information will be appreciated
Thanks, Jamey |

Location: Scotland | The Ultra started out as USA built in the early 80's but production moved to Korea around 84/85. Offshore serial numbers don't correspond with US production so it's more than probable that yours was made in Korea. The giveaway is that the USA Ultras had high-density foam/aluminum necks. If the neck on yours is wood, then it's definately not a USA guitar. That said, the foam is pretty convincing, and some owners of USA Ultras don't realise the necks are synthetic. To be certain, post some pics |

| Hello
Sorry about the delay in responding. It is my first Ovation and so I really don't have anything to compare it with. I currently play a Taylor in church (Southern Gospel) and have owned about 10 Martins the only other electric I have owned was a Les Paul. I bought this guitar for $175 so I feel that it was a good bargain. We have church tonight so I will put it to the test.
