Drop dead beautiful from every angle and not a mark on it. This has been my pride and joy but just does not get the playtime it deserves. This is Collings top of the line 3 version which means it has the best of the best appointments. On top of that is added a number of custom upgrades such as the eye popping solid flamed maple back and sides and the multi-color floral headstock inlay. Sonically this instrument is a killer. It has the typical balance of am OM sized guitar with the added punch of the maple back and sides. The beautiful AAA spruce top bound in tortoise sings like an angel. Tortoise trim all around (headstock, fretboard, body and back. Gold Waverly tuners. Bone nut and saddle. Ebony fretboard and 1-11/16 nut width. And to top it off, I've got the K&K Pure Western pickup installed tot he end pin jack. Top of the line Collings case included. Condition is absolutely flawless. FEATURES o AAA Sitka spruce top o Solid flamed maple back and sides o Tortoise body, top, fretboard and peghead binding o Ebony bridge and fretboard o Bone saddle and nut (1-11/16) o Flamed maple neck with modified V profile and volute o Waverly gold tuners o Scale Length 25 1/2" o Pre-war scalloped sitka X-brace o Fingerboard Radius 14" o High gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish o Tortoise Pickguard o K&K Pure Western Pickup o Deluxe Collings hardshell case PRICE: $4500 US including free FedEx delivery to 48 US States PM or Email me if you have any questions Edited by Standingovation 2016-09-05 11:19 PM

When Dave says flawless that is exactly was is meant. I have about a dozen Ovations already. There is nothing wrong with having a couple of special non 'O' models in the collection. GLWS

That guitar is now a Collectors Item !!! Funny thing ... over the long arc of time (and a lot of good fortune) the "List Of Those I Miss" has now outgrown the "List Of Those I Crave". I guess that is a good thing.

I guess that is a good thing. That D55 was a good investment. I think it's easily worth 30% more today. With Guild Oxford slowly just beginning to crank out some satin finish guitars, a nitro D55 has been OOP for several years now. In fact, you could argue that guitars are holding their value better these days than the dollar! = buy more guitars.
