We are putting together an Esteban World Tour over on the AG forum. If anyone here would like in, be sure to let me know.

Here is the posting that started it all:

***************************************

Want in on the first ever Esteban guitar world tour? Easy. Here's how it works...

I'll front the cost of the guitar ($220 with shipping, if I understand it right). If you want to help with the cost, shoot me a $20 via PayPal. But don't worry...this isn't about the money. Its about the music and artistry that only the Esteban guitar can deliver.

You record your Esteban video and upload it to our web site (details TBD). Then, you send it to the next person on the list, and so on.

A brief, youtube style video would be best. We can load them all up on youtube and then have a page of links on our site. I will include a sharpie (yes, I am sparing no expense here) so you will be able to personally sign the Esteban and thus guarantee your immortality.

Bill Hammond expressed concerns about the durability of the Esteban guitar and questioned whether it could survive repeated shipment. NONSENSE! There will be no blaspheming here. We are talking about a "sumptuously crafted instrument that sounds as good as it looks".

Post here if you are in. Also, send me an e-mail (jeff@thejeffmiller.com) with your full name and address so I can get started on the list.

Don't get caught on the outside looking in! Don't be a mook! Take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the guitar as only Esteban can craft it.

I cannot believe the guy who works in the office next to mine actually bought one of those things for his daughter. All the instruments I have purchased come in through my office, and I have shown every one of them to him. Oh well ... I guess he just didn't want to spend more than 250. There IS a lot of flourescent paint on it. That MUST make it worth a lot more. I DID play it for a minute to critique it for him. I told him it sounds and plays just like the ones they sell at WalMart.

I saw that post over there but didn't read it. I will now.
Don't you want in Cliff?
Maybe we could get it to the Island for the Amelia Matt clinic and we can all play it then? And then put it on a shrimp boat to the next destination.

Hey! I got a Real Nice Johnson 620 (acoustic only) that I paid $66 for (with case and shipping)*.
I imagine that is about as good as an Esteban.

[That was before I got my first MIK Balladeer... I really gotta dig that Johnson out and play it one of these days]

My friend Tina almost bought me one.
She thought it was really great from TV,
I'm glad she asked first.

$200 buy an Applause.

I have only seen one Estaban I have seen
was really bad. I could not get it to stay in tune.
The action was awefull

Never heard of an Estoban , thought she was a singer anyway, Gloria Estoban , anyway think the point is its a crap guitar , count me in if it really is a world tour and then the whole cycle of performance anxiety , not knowing how to opperate a video or upload stuff, what to wear etc etc can begin , .....what are the chords to stairway to heaven

Good idea getting it to the Amelia island clinic. Perfect. I'll make sure it works out that way.

we (in poland) have a crappy brand "Ever play". no matter what they do, and how hard they try - outcome is pure sh*t. Few months ago i've seen acoustic guitar with octave above 13th fret.
That's why i call them "nEver play"

and i think Samick offers best bang for buck (at least here) guitars. D-7, D-8 models, while cheap (350-450$) sound really good. i mean - really -> they can go head to head with guitars 3 times that expensive and still hold it's own

Honestly, if it weren't for Marlboro, I wouldn't even own an acoustic. All the catalogue said was "solid spruce top" which I figured was worth $50. I bought two and gave one to my nephew. Sure beats the plywood ones from back in the day that Al was talking about. Had one of those too. Busted it over my sister's head one day when I got tired of her s**t. She's fine, and doesn't remember a thing. Snagged her guitar-same thing-since she never played it, and that's what I learned on.
