When this happens
My sister goes to pick up the Patriot that was mentioned here that was on Craig's list in LA. She and her son go and get it. The guy says, "you know there is a battery in these, make sure you tell your brother about it" She just said, I think he knows. Never cracked a smile....

She called me today and related that story. I was in the shipping place that my friend owns, I told him the story and the other customer in there at the counter looks at me funny. Greg says, "He knows, he used to run the company". The guy says "Really? I have a Magnum 3"

Ya gotta love Austin.....

Oh yeah, and it is cleaner than the pictures showed. Guy that owned it was a violinist, go figger. Pretty good for a 39 year old guitar.

Who knew you could pick up that much detail at a gas station...?

Nice grab.

LOL!!!! I love it!!!

But what are the chances that you would be selling an Ovation to the Guy who made them???
I am thrilled that it was in such great shape, and such a great price!! Love to see those Patriots, or any of the Fine Vintage Ovations, go to a good home!

Great story! What's not to love.

The irony for me of course as I followed this purchase is that I bought Patriot #76 from Beal several years back. Every once in a while I've tried to talk him out of #1 as well.

What can I say, the Patriots are great guitars!

As I recall 76 was acoustic? Maybe not. I have a reason to have one now, I didn't back then. And #1 goes with all the other first of this, only one of that....

Yep. 76 is acoustic, and it looks as nice now as the day it arrived here, despite a generous amount of playing time. Thanks again.

Congrats on the new one!
