1981 vintage, 12 fret stothead, excellent condition, minimal fret wear, no dings or cracks, hand laid fiberglass deep bowl, burst finish.

Electronics work fine, plays and sounds great. Includes original Ovation hard shell case, in average condition.

I have 2, 12-string O’s, and get along better with my 1758, so this one needs a new home.

Asking $475 plus shipping.

Thanks for looking! I will post additional photos if needed.

1981 vintage,  hand laid fiberglass deep bowl, ...

Did it get a new bowl at the mothership or is this original? Anyway I am struggling with GAS control ...

Original bowl. I heard that in 81, some were hand laid glass, some were not. Aren't we all struggling with GAS control...

The easy way to tell if it's a hand-laid bowl is you can see the weave of the cloth when looking in the sound hole. No weave = SMC.

Yes, the cloth weave can be seen clearly, is is definitely hand laid fiberglass.

Can someone explain the difference in the bowl types please?

As to bowl types in this conversation...
Hand-laid fiberglass bowls are Hand Laid, and the vibrate more that the newer ones.

Injection molded bowls were made a Zehrco-Giancola Composites in Ashtabula, OH.
Those are what are on most Ovations.

Later in time, many custom O's and A's returned to Hand-laid bowls.
Such as my 40th Anny K-1111 and many Adamii.

Meanwhile... That is a beautiful guitar. I wish that I could afford it.

A Few more pictures. I dug out the case and cleaned it up, it is in better shape than I remembered.

Also, I made a walnut truss rod cover to match the saddle, I like the look better, but still have the black plastic original one that will be included.

Having trouble with Paypal.

Does it need to go to a paypal username, or an email? Can't remember.

I get to a security check screen. Tell it to receive a text, but no "go" button. No anything... Just sits there.
Help OMA!

If you have a PayPal account, open your account...
Near the top of the page there should be a thing that sez "pay or send money".
Click that.
Then it will give you a choice to "Pay for Goods" or "Send money to Friends".
(if you "pay for goods" it costs the Seller 4% but it is connected to PayPal Shipping and all that)
Once you choose, you either type in the Phone Number or email address.
The recipient must have a PayPal account.

The simpler way is to have the Seller send you a PayPal invoice.
