I know the K1111 is very special, and very beautiful, but I just don't need 2, and the old girl wins hands down. This is #03 of a very limited run. When I received it, the saddle was not the right one. The pictures show the old saddle with gaps at the end. I had a new one made that fits perfectly and is compensated for spot on intonation. There were some silly rumors about this guitar that floated around after my purchase, so I contacted John Budny at Ovation to find out what the history was as he knew it and did find out somethind VERY disturbing... Someone put a pick guard on it. JEEZUS, really? Anyway, it may have been Patch that had it sent for removal, and after John and Co were done, there was no trace of a pickguard ever being on it. In addition to the new saddle, I had the frets leveled and dressed, and a complete setup done here locally. The thing is in perfect working order and in perfect cosmetic condition. It's prettier than the original, but I gotta stay with the mature gal. $850 with case plus whatever it cost to get it to you.

If you have the money and are feeling charitable, put it in the plate at church or give it to a homeless shelter........ I've just always really liked these K1111. Hope this one goes to a good home. I'll have one someday.

Would have been cool to find who has #4 and make a "straight". Actually I think I sold #5. Edited by Standingovation 2015-05-28 8:43 PM

No, it's a tribute to the incredible kindnesses that have been shown on this board, to me and to others.......

Throw that on top of a shiny bowl and they are just a beautiful instrument with a killer acoustical response. Less than 50 of these were produced, so they rarely show up on the secondary market.
