I'd let go of mine for what I've got in it, but that won't get near enough to replace it with a 1581 deep-bowl. At this point I can't afford a big difference in price to upgrade to a deep-bowl in equal (very good to excellent) condition. However, if anyone that wants to get rid of a 1581 and wants to jump in here, then PM Randy and me. Maybe we can work something out and keep these guitars in the OFC family. I'm sure you know that the guys here (including Weaser) keep good tabs on these kinds of things going up for sale no matter where they're advertised then let us know about them here. Be patient and get what you want. You'll be happier in the long run. Best of luck Randy.

They are the best and once you get your hands on one it is not easy to let them go. There was an Adamas 2 cutaway up for sale from a memeber back in Oct-November that matched my 1587-7 I was not ready until this past week to buy. It was of course long gone. I have been scouring the web for the past few weeks I found an Adamas 1 cutaway for $2,000. I desperatly need an excellent second guitar that I can detune a full note if I want, this was it. In my search I found a guy who has a baritone Adamas 1. If I can't find my way to one of these unbelievable slotheads I am going to try and get this. Good luck on the adamas serch. Wait, they are around, do not settle for anything less! Randy

But I'm trying to remember the eBay auction description from last year. Yes, he did sell this guitar along with another Adamas. I can't remember for sure, but the second one may have been a twelve string. I don't think he uses Adamas guitars anymore. If you want to see this Adamas D, look at the cover of his CD called "High Strung Tall Tales". He does the opening track "Celandine" with this guitar. I like it--a real toe-tapper. He may even use it during the live set that is on the CD, too. My favorite song on the live set is "The Irish Girl". He may have used the Adamas D on this one also, but I'm not sure. I'm sure there is much more info on this particular guitar out there. I don't know much more about it or the others.

But when he does I am the first on the list. It won't be cheap that I know. I wish I had the cash when those other Legg guitars went up. Ya know they sounded so good and they were such a signature style guitar for Adrian I wonder why he gave up Adamas guitars! That seemed like the perfect match. Wonder if it was a corporate thing?? No matter either way it is a shame. Randy

Adrian Legg has a special baritone made that out-performs all the rest but it's virtually impossible to get. These guitars can't be popular because they are scarce. What was it that Ovation discovered when they made the 1537?...From what I am hearing even the new models can't touch it...

I think this promotes the resoundance within the bowl and top. My Adamas don't feel like they weigh half as much as the 1537. Tim

I HIGHLY recommend the G7 cAHHHpo's for anyone with this kind of headstock. The inside rubber of the curved jaw has indents in it that create "feet" that perfectly "hug" the top of the acanthus. Y'can't do THIS with a Kyser (and have it stay). GoesWell with these tuners, too . . .

I have found my adamas's sound fantastic tuned down one full note! THrough a nice acoustic amp with the bass cranked up they rumble like a bass and the high notes are still right there. It is fun to play these like this! I can't imagine how cool it is to be able to go two full notes down and kick this through a nice PA with subs. It must rock the house man. Thanks for the photo's only photo I have ever seen other than Adrian playing one. Randy
