Before you send them off, how about taking a photo of all the signatures for us to see. There would be some cool memories there, I bet.

Before they get stuck somewhere again maybe they should go through the hands of the guys from DW.

Mr WeaserP - 2015-04-17 5:57 PM

I've mentioned a few times that I have one of the books but there have been no requests made to my knowledge. I would be more than willing to move it along if someone would like to send me their information. Sincere apologies if I've derailed anything...

Have I seen your copy? If not, send it to me. One of them made it here for a Gathering, but I don't believe I got to put anything in it, and it left at the end of the gathering of course.

At least I don't remember putting anything into it. Anyway, of all people I probably should make a contribution to it so I'll send you my info....

I am pretty sure that is the one that passed through my hands...
It has been to Australia (I think), but I know that it has been to South America.

(I scanned that photo for my screen saver album... just cuz)

Both books have been to South Dakota. One when I was the first person to respond to a "who's next" post, and the second one came to the gathering here.

I bought my copy about five years ago off the rack in a Brisbane (Australia) music shop. $A20 or so if memory serves correct.

A quick search shows "Where are the Ovation books?" posted on March 13, 2008, referring to the books starting their trek to OFC'ers in 2007 (eight years ago). At that time, Beggin included in his post "Anyway, I was wondering if they are still in circulation or had found their way into someone's bathroom book shelf?!"

http://ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=3339&s...

UPS tracking shows that I will have one of the books on Monday from Weaser. Next stop will be Miles, then Nancy.

Originally, I had one of the books but didn't have time to check it out before the next day Matt Smith clinic. Gave it to Fred Williams who then passed it on to the next on the list.

I was more focused on the gift we wanted to give to Matt Smith for all he had done. I had contacted John Budny, Ovation donated a signed copy of the book, John had a lot of the employees sign it, arrived the day of the clinic and I gave it to Matt at the clinic that afternoon.

We need to find the other book. It was not intended to become the property of an OFC'er. Hopefully, at some time, someone could scan or take pictures of the pages from both books. When the interest has been satisfied, I recommend that a book go to the custody of John Budny so he can show it to current and new employees. As to the other book, one possibility is that it could go to DW.

So, after Nancy, who wants to get this book? Anyone volunteering to make scans or photos of this book and the other if it surfaces?

A fun thread indicates that the books were going around in 2005.

Read for a smile the thread: http://ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=10011&... I believe we lost Bailey (joined in 2002) as Bruce and I lost contact with him years ago and he had serious health issues.

There is a stated and implied agreement that the individual receiving one of the two books will ship it to the next person within a reasonable time. If I remember, MWoody made two boxes to protect the books in shipping. You should make a comment, name, and state or country in the book. Not mandatory but a trinket included in the book has been the norm. It can be something of little or no value.

I did take a few camera shots of the book (and box contents) that you'll be receiving Monday, Tony. I just haven't had a chance to put them up in an album yet. They should be up this weekend if I get a few minutes. I'm certainly not a great photographer and I didn't think I could get Phil to drive up to CNY for a twenty minute shoot but it should give everyone an idea of what's in there just the same.

The book we had at the South Dakota gathering had quite a few pictures and postcards in it. I thought that postcards showing the book's travels made nice trinkets.

Ok, the pics I took are all uploaded in the album section. Keep in mind, the shots were taken to let everyone see the contents and signatures and certainly not for artistic expression.

That and I couldn't find a red blanket...

Schroeder, why would you have a $10 bill? Weren't you using pound sterling back then? Any American would have claimed to have put in at least $20, since we can't get much for $10 any more.
