GUILD D-40 BLUEGRASS JUBILEE - A PIECE OF NEW HARTFORD HISTORY !!!
This is one of the very early protos off the line in New Hartford as they retooled the factory from Ovation production to Guild production. Guitar has no serial number. Didn't even come with a pickguard so I added one after the fact. This guitar is stunning both sonically and cosmetically. The sound of the full sized dread is everything you would imagine plus a little dash of Ovation mojo thrown in when nobody was looking.
GUILD D-40 WEBSITE
This baby is equipped the D-TAR Wave-Length Lock-N-Load pickup and pre-amp system with controls nicely hidden on the edge of the soundhole. Sounds amazingly warm and transparent. I did not use the guitar much plugged in, but on the few times that I did, it really sounded great.

Location: Canada | How does this differ from the production models (e.g. Adirondack vs. Red Spruce) and how is the build quality? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I think Adirondack and Red Spruce are the same thing. Not sure exactly how different than production model. Probably took 50 hours to build instead of 10. Quality is top notch New Hartford standard. Only thing I can notice is that it didn't come with a pickguard and it has no serial number on the label. |

Location: Canada | Guess I was on the fence for that too long but I think I want a rosewood and I didn't like the generic pickguard. Anyway, I hope you will show us you new acquisition soon. |
