Location: Denmark | Hello, I have a question about the 3862 Pinnacle. As far as I have found so far most of these were made in Japan and a few were made in Germany. According to http://www.ovationtribute.com/O_Decoder/O-Decoder%20rev8.htm the model was manufactured from 1990 to 1992.

I have seen them offered for sale as claiming origin as early as 1981 1982 and 1985. Some of these have serial nos (6 digit) which is visible on photos etc. dating them to late 1980s according to http://www.ovationguitars.com/en-DK/support/date-your-ovation/
I have the impression that the 1983 Collectors model was the birth of the super shallow body and if that fact holds, guitars stated to be 1981 and 1982 must be bad memory/info from the seller.
Who knows the history of these guitars. I just bought one. It is really well built (despite not being US built) and I actually have fallen in love with it. I would like to know a bit more about it. Thank you very much for your input.
