How much you think a carbon fiber cello runs anyway?

My wife is a Cellist and I know when her HS students start to get serious and want to buy instead of rent they look for a "good" wooden Cello which can usually start at around $10K. You can buy lower cost Chinese factory Cellos for less but I doubt they're as good as the carbon fiber.

So maybe she is sticking to her roots. Unlike others who have all defected to Takamine and Taylor. Edited by Old Man Arthur 2014-10-23 4:04 PM

She's still using it. That's a Veillette Gryphon 12-String soprano. It's high tuned D to D and the strings are just doubled, no octaves. Dave Matthews uses one on some tunes too... 'The Idea Of You', 'Shotgun', and 'Squirm' are 3 for sure. I'm kinda ridiculous at a Dave concert. There are certain songs I know he's about to play, just by which guitar his tech is handing him. He has a high strung B to B 6 string too, but I think it's a Martin.

'Others' That would imply that Ovation actually had relevant endorsers at the end. Did you see the last list of endorsers on the owner's manuals? All has-beens or might bes. She's on it, but Kaki's still a might be. I'm going to see her at the Edmonds Community Center. 15 miles North of the main metro area with front row seats STILL readily available and cheap. She's got a ways to go for sure, but she kicks my ***. She's making a living doing what she loves.

I did help out the cause and bought all her albums. I couldn't help it, it's such a great way to sell them. This should answer any questions about her loyalty to her Adamas. You can buy albums on CD/vinyl individually, or you can just buy 'em all on a flash drive...
