I respond to a lot of his posts on Facebook. Awhile back he shared my post containing my protest song I wrote and recorded. That prompted a response from Pete Wasner who tours with Vince Gill and has written several of his most notable songs. Just recently a guy named Freebo replied to me. I asked him if he was the bass player on the Midnight at the Oasis Maria Muldaur lp I still have and listen to from the 70's. I was very excited when he wrote me back, texted actually, that it was indeed him. The ensemble of musicians he played with on that lp is phenomenal and included Amos Garret who did the famous solo on the title song. Freebo toured for years with Bonnie Raitt as well. He would have had to have gotten my text info from Randy. He has a website with his singer/songwriter stuff on it he sent me a link to and told me he'd let me know when he might be in the Dallas area on a tour with someone. I was into bass for over a decade and to hear from a bassist of his reputation is exciting to me. And no bob, I'm not using this as an opportunity to sell him a Conant guitar!

Oh please....like I would ever take a cheap shot like that? (I'll bet he's got a nice, sexy tour bus you could spend the night in tho...)

DaveKell is also Facebook friends with Morti Schnell, who use to change the strings on Earl Scruggs banjos. He has Doris Phlem's (an extra on Family Affair) maid's phone # on speed dial, and has been seen sexting with Liberace's younger brother.

I guess that would be the third tour bus I've been on. Years ago a country singer named Leon Everette and I became friends at Billy Bob's Teas nightclub. His famous song at the time was Hurricane ("I was born in the rain by the Ponchartraine, underneath that Louisiana moon"). He was sharing the bill with Porter Wagoner who bumped into me on the stairs backstage leading up to the stage itself. He grabbed his lavender lapels and turned and posed for a pic I had to be in as well. I was nearly blinded by the rhinestones. That is one butt ugly dude. Anyway, after the show I got to board Leon's bus and hang with him and the band. I thought he was really into me but I couldn't help notice how he kept looking at the third wheel with me and my wife, a woman with a thin tank top on that barely was able to contain natural double D's. His guitar player, a dude named Randy Waggoner (no relation to Porter) kept her occupied in the back tho. Edited by DaveKell 2014-09-15 5:31 AM

One or two could be forum members here. The AGF has some very famous people on it even though I can't name them right off (not done with first morning cup of coffee). AS I recently learned, ya never know who ya could end up corresponding with online!
