Howdy yall,

I always look at my guit and can't get over how that neck looks! I also dig how the machines say "Made in W. Germany" too:

My question is this: is there still trouble out there in regards to woods and have any Ovations/Adamas been seized?

Regards,

I think Muzza seized a couple of AJ's Ovations the other day, but I don't think it has anything to do with the wood.

Love those satin necks.

I don't believe Ovation ever used any banned woods

Would have been for rosewood fingerboards, and by late 60s supplies were already going way low I think.

Everybody is Still using Rosewood Fingerboards... So I don't think that it is that much of a problem.
There was a big deal about some Gibson wood stockpiles a while back.
But without going in to conspiracy theories about persecution vs. prosecution...
Suffice it to say that people can travel with their guitars Lookie

That might not protect you from some customs agent looking for a bribe.

Brazilian Lyrachord.

A good thing about having much of the guitar built out of plastic is that you are not as much dependent on controlled materials and scrace resources.

Thank you for all the replies. I've traveled a few times with this one, but it was before the crack-down...
