Location: Utah | In refretting the Viper neck I have put some minor scratches in the gloss coat from filing the ends of the frets. Even with sanding and buffing the scratches are there, so they need to be filled with something and then sanded/buffed.
What would be compatible with the original finish (1970's Ovation) and would make a durable good finish? I just want to fill the scratches, not refinish the entire area.

Location: SoCal | non-glare (shiney) nail polish used for men's nails (hard to find) will work if you have patience...add some, let dry and expand, then do it again, etc. |

Location: Pueblo West, CO | You could also try CA. Apply drop-by-drop with a toothpick or small music wire. As long as the quantity of glue is kept small, it should not overflow past the edges of the scratch and should self-level.
Once it's slightly proud of the surrounding area, lightly sand/polish to match the finish. |

Location: Utah | Small music wire! Great idea for applying a small drop of liquid. Thanks, Dan. |

You can also use pins or sewing needles if you don't have access to small music wire.
Small wire can also be used to apply a drop of kicker, too. |
