Hi Stuart,

The 1869, like other shallow bowl, sounds a bit too thin if unplugged... When plugged-in, it sounds wonderful & clear. Action is great & I like the neck of mine which is non-gloss. The one I have comes with the OP-50 & it is very quiet... It would be a very nice wood-top model if you use it mainly for stage performance or recording... But you probably would like "deeper" bowl if you use it mainly unplugged...

I've got a 1768 deep bowl, also with a non-gloss neck but with Optima pre-amp.

If you want an full bodied Elite, you'll find it an excellent guitar, acoustically or amped.

Mine's the 'non bling' model from before the 'book' elite, which I prefer. (I'm a no - bling sort of guy)

And before you ask, NO!
