Well, my EA68 Viper 6 finally shouted to me last night at rehearsal "I need a fret job!" It was the B and E strings speaking in a duet. I think the frets were pretty much shot when I obtained the guitar and I've added considerably to the grooves. I nursed it along for the past two years, but I am running out of room where the B/E strings don't buzz and tingle instead of ringing out. I've e-mailed JB and hope to ship it off soon.

Ask them to strip the bowl paint off the back.

I may very well do that. The black plastic covers don't mix well with a finished back, but why hide the beauty? On the other hand, it would no longer match its Viper 12 twin.

The picture is someone else's project.
I do not like the black plastic covers either.
When my blue-tamo68 comes back, I'll make a set of wood covers to match.

We won't know until the bowl paint comes off. Every one of them is different. The wood might not look so great... then I pay to have it re-bowl-painted. It's a gamble, but worth it.
