I'm new at this forum stuff so bear with me !
Got a new Custom Balladeer 1612 in 1976, still love and play it, unfortunately preamp is going kaput!
It's been a great box all these years. Gonna to try to repair/replace the electrics if available. Now to my question. Old balladeer forced me to join the new mellienum and buy a new USA Legend 1717 w/ OP40 electrics. I run it through a Bose Pas. The Pas has channel eq presets and and eq-ing at the control pad, and the OP40 has eq. Do I start flat with all, which do I tweek first, second etc. Any suggestions ? Ya see the old box only has a volume knob !!

Contact the factory about the kaput preamp.

As a total amateur, the way I eq is to get the guitar setup to a sound I like through my equipment, with everything else besides the guitar set flat. Then I tweak at the amp, mixer, PA, or effects box. There are times that there isn't time to really work on tweaking the amp or mixer, so sometimes I'll end up having to mess with the guitar preamp eq.

Probably this is totally backwards from how the pros do it, but for my purposes it has been workable.

I don't do anything with it, but when this topic came up a few years ago, most used a V shape with the bass and treble higher than the mids. I've always bought Ovations because I like how they sound, so if I do plug in, I leave the eq flat.
